Save on iPhone and iPad from the browser
Accept the transfer, save the file through the share menu and keep its original file name.
You need
A received transfer in the web app on your iPhone or iPad.
In the pipeit app for iPhone and iPad, received files keep their name and are saved to Files directly. This guide is for receiving in Safari or another browser.
- Accept the incoming transfer in the web app and wait until it has been received.
- Under Recently received, open the file you want and choose Save file.
- In the system share menu choose Save to Files and pick the folder. Images can be saved with the system actions that are offered.
- Check the file in the app you chose. Download started only confirms that the export has begun.
If the browser does not offer a file export with the original name, iOS can assign a technical name to a direct download. If possible use Safari with Save file, or rename the file in the Files app. A correct extension alone does not prove the content is intact; if a file will not open, check the receive status and the size.
Save again uses the local copy that was already received. It does not start a new transfer from the sender. These copies stay available until you reload or sign out; they are not a permanent download archive. Remove from this view deletes the local display and copy, not a file you have already saved elsewhere.
