Send files between two of your devices
Pick files, choose the receiving device, check the connection and wait for “Received and verified”.
You need
Both devices signed in to pipeit and connected as your devices.
- Open Send & receive on both devices. On a phone, keep the page open and the device unlocked during the transfer if you can.
- Choose Choose files. You can select several files. Use Add more files to extend your selection, and remove single entries before sending.
- Choose the receiving device. Use the search and recently used devices if they are shown. Check the name, especially when one computer has several browser installations.
- If the receiving device offers destinations, Save to … appears. Pick the alias or keep Default location. You do not need to know a path on the other device.
- Wait for the connection check. The info icon explains which method was checked and why the direct route is possible or still unconfirmed. Choose Check connection again if needed.
- Choose the connection route you want and start the transfer. For large transfers in the browser choose Connect through pipeit.
- On the receiving device the transfer appears under Just arrived. Accept the shared transfer; each file keeps its own progress and completion.
- Wait for Received and verified. Then save the received browser files on the device.
In the pipeit apps for iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows and Linux the steps are the same. Received files are saved directly, and devices that are nearby connect to each other without internet.
