Sync: keep your folders in step.

Pick the folders you want on a device. pipeit keeps them up to date and keeps working when the connection drops.

Only what you choose

Decide per device which folders to sync. The original files stay where they are; nothing is moved into a special folder.

Offline changes are not lost

Edits made while you are offline are queued on the device and applied as soon as pipeit is reachable again. The queue survives a restart.

Two changes, two versions

If the same file changes on two devices, pipeit does not pick a winner and overwrite the other. Both versions are kept so you can decide.

Files on demand

Finder, Explorer and the Files app list a file without downloading it and fetch it when you open it. A file is only removed from a device after pipeit has checked that its current version is safe in the cloud.

Removing is not deleting

Taking a file off one device and deleting it from the cloud are different actions, and the app asks which one you mean.

Good to know

  • Sync is built into Finder on the Mac, Explorer on Windows and the Files app on iPhone and iPad.
  • A full cloud stops new uploads and changes that need more space. It never deletes your files to make room.
  • Sync mirrors the folders you chose. Backing up photos and files is a separate option in the cloud.
