Connect a device of your own
Add a new browser or device to your account and check its identity before you approve it.
You need
A sign-in on the new device and, if you already have one, access to a trusted device of your own.
- Open Devices on the new device. Give it a name you will recognize later.
- Follow the connection flow that is offered. Use the connection link or QR code if one is shown, and confirm the connection on the authorized device.
- Check the device identity or fingerprint that is shown before you finish the approval.
- Afterwards check the device list on both sides. Signing in alone does not mean the local device key has been approved.
For the very first device, use the first-device flow. If no paired device is left, do not improvise on someone else’s account: see Regain device access after a loss.
